COMPLETE EARLY CHILDHOOD ENROLLMENT PAPERWORK
To comply with State laws regarding immunizations, our school requires all children new to Addlestone or entering our regular program to submit the official State of South Carolina “Certificate of Immunization” signed by a doctor, the Health Department, or military clinic. Make sure you ask your pediatrician to send an up-to-date “Certificate of Immunization” via fax to 843-571-6116 or email to [email protected]. Without this form properly completed, your child cannot attend our school.

In order to help make your child’s transition into Addlestone a success, you are invited to meet with your child’s teachers for our Back to School In-Take conferences. This is an opportunity for you and your child to visit their classroom and meet their teachers. The conference will include an open discussion about your child’s strengths, needs, behaviors and learning styles, as well as an opportunity to provide any pertinent information that you believe will help your child to be successful this year.

As a partner in your child’s academic success, we look forward to this opportunity to work together to provide the best individualized nourishment for your child’s education.

Back to School In-Take conferences sign ups are open now through August 5th.

EC2 Blue Parents, please register for Parent-Teacher conferences here.

Mrs. Danielle Garguilo
EC2 Blue Lead Teacher

Hi, my name is Danielle! I have been working with children for 15 years. I started my teaching experience with Addlestone in September of 2023. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services with an emphasis on children and families.

I have two children of my own, my son is 5 years old and my daughter is 2 years old. I enjoy spending time with friends and family. The beach is my favorite place to be. Ever since I was a little girl I always knew when I grew up I wanted to be a Mommy and a teacher.

I love that I get to be both and I am so excited to make sweet fun summer memories with your littles!

Mr. Ben Farmer
EC2 Blue Assistant Teacher

Hi, my name is Ben! I’m very excited about teaching at Addlestone this coming school year. My fiancé and I moved to Charleston to pursue my career in veterinary care and after several years caring for animals, I have found that my passion remains in childcare. I have several years experience working with and caring for children. I believe that my experience in animal medicine has taught me a great deal about patience and compassion. I look forward to transferring that into the classroom.

Fun facts about me: I love outdoor sports and activities such as hiking, biking and hang gliding up in the mountains!

Hi my name is Gerti, and I have been the Early Childhood Judaics teacher at Addlestone for over 5 years. I have been so fortunate to share some of my time here at AHA with my two daughters. I am passionate about working with children to gain perspective on the world and its wonders. I’m excited to work with the EC staff to bring Judaic Studies, Hebrew language, and Jewish values into your child’s classroom every day. We’ll learn Jewish traditions, holidays, daily prayers, blessings, conversational Hebrew, and more through songs, games, and storytelling. Every Friday, we’ll celebrate Kabbalat Shabbat (Welcoming the Sabbath) together. Plus, each semester, you’ll be invited to a creative showcase of your children’s Jewish education. I look forward to a great year ahead!

Prior to the first day of school, you may want to try some of the following to help ease the transition for both you and your child:

  • Begin an early bedtime routine (roughly 7:00-7:30 pm)
  • Plan some opportunities to be away from home and consider playdates to leave your child with family members or friends.
  • Consider finding a goodbye routine for you and your child to participate in during carpool drop off (hugs, chants, high fives, etc.)

Please bring these items to school during your scheduled Parent Intake Conference Day in August and monitor your email for an invitation to schedule your conference. Having these items taken care of before the FIRST DAY of school (August 19) will allow you to focus on your child’s transition into the classroom!

  • Two complete changes of clothing (including socks and one pair of shoes). Please label each item and place them in a labeled Ziploc bag to remain at school
  • 1 large box diapers or pull ups (with easy open sides)
  • 1 large case of wipes
  • Diaper cream (labeled), if needed
  • $30 VISA gift card. This is used for special classroom events and your child’s assessment portfolio

(*Please note that this daily schedule may change based on the needs of the class.)

  • Expect some anxiety on the first days and even weeks of school. This is normal.
  • Remember a quick goodbye is usually best. Practice your “goodbye routine” with your child prior to their first day in the carpool line.

  • Dress your child appropriately for the weather and play. Choose clothing that is at an appropriate length to avoid tripping.

This is to ensure that all children are accounted for and supervised at all times. All late pick-ups will generate a fee (per child) of $25.00.
  • Apply sunscreen/insect repellent prior to entering the building each day. Teachers will reapply in the afternoon upon parent request.
  • Refrain from bringing toys and other items to school.
  • All children will rest after lunch for at least 30 minutes. Children who are still awake at the 30 minute mark will be provided with a quiet activity.
