EC3 Yellow 2024-2025

Welcome to Addlestone Hebrew Academy, we are so excited to share a wonderful school year with you. Your child’s teachers are Miss Gracie, Miss Rachel, and Miss Jennifer. This year promises to be filled with joy, creativity, and discovery. Your child will engage in a variety of child-led enriching activities, including art, music, Judaics, themed performances, and more.

We look forward to a year of learning and growth together! Please carefully review and complete each of the sections below no later than August 1, 2024. We can’t wait to see you on August 18 at 12 PM for our campus dedication followed by the Back to School Bash.

Your child’s projected academic plan is to join the EC3 classroom. However, should your child not be FULLY potty trained by the first day of school, we have reserved a spot for your child to remain in the EC2 Blue classroom to work on his/her potty training skills until they are having limited to no accidents and sleeping without a pull-up. In order to adhere to the regulations set forth by the Department of Social Services, EC3 students must be able to use the potty independently.

Please complete the forms below no later than August 1, 2024. Note that we cannot receive these forms until you have clicked submit and confirmed your email address.

If you would prefer to complete these forms on printed copies or have questions, please contact [email protected] or 843-571-1105.

PLEASE COMPLETE REQUIRED ENROLLMENT PAPERWORK HERE NO LATER THAN AUGUST 1 »

COMPLETE EARLY CHILDHOOD ENROLLMENT PAPERWORK
To comply with State laws regarding immunizations, our school requires all children new to Addlestone or entering our regular program to submit the official State of South Carolina “Certificate of Immunization” signed by a doctor, the Health Department, or military clinic. Make sure you ask your pediatrician to send an up-to-date “Certificate of Immunization” via fax to 843-571-6116 or email to [email protected]. Without this form properly completed, your child cannot attend our school.

In order to help make your child’s transition into Addlestone a success, you are invited to meet with your child’s teachers for our Back to School In-Take conferences. This is an opportunity for you and your child to visit their classroom and meet their teachers. The conference will include an open discussion about your child’s strengths, needs, behaviors and learning styles, as well as an opportunity to provide any pertinent information that you believe will help your child to be successful this year.

As a partner in your child’s academic success, we look forward to this opportunity to work together to provide the best individualized nourishment for your child’s education.

Back to School In-Take conferences sign ups are open now through August 5th.

Ms. Gracie Austwick
EC3 Yellow Lead Teacher

Hi, my name is Gracie and I recently graduated from the College of Charleston with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early childhood Education. I have over eleven years of childcare experience. Throughout the course of my student teaching, I was lucky to have had an experience teaching in a 2nd Grade, 1st Grade, and a Pre-K classroom. I was thrilled to find my passion in the Early Childhood and look forward to kicking off my teaching career at Addlestone!

I am a huge advocate for playful learning and cannot wait to have a blast with my students.

Ms. Rachel Timmons
EC3 Yellow Assistant Teacher

Hi, my name is Rachel! I have worked with children both professionally and personally for nearly 20 years. I have explored various educational opportunities such as tutoring, babysitting, nannying and pursued training as a children’s religious educator.

I am currently attending Arizona State University for a degree in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Spanish. I am excited to join Camp Shalom this summer and I am looking forward to continuing to be a part of the welcoming community of Addlestone.

Mrs. MM Kibby
EC3 Yellow Assistant Teacher

My name is MM! I have had the pleasure of serving as a teacher in the Early Childhood program both in the classroom and in the Lion’s Den after-school program here at Addlestone.

I have 6 years of experience being an assistant, floater, and lead in preschool classrooms and I’m currently finishing my degree. I’m excited to help your little ones explore and thrive in a fun-filled Jewish environment!

A fun fact about me is I want to be a Child Life Specialist and I volunteer at MUSC Shawn Jenkins’ Child Life program! I am so excited to share another wonderful year together at Addlestone Hebrew Academy!

Hi my name is Gerti, and I have been the Early Childhood Judaics teacher at Addlestone for over 5 years. I have been so fortunate to share some of my time here at AHA with my two daughters. I am passionate about working with children to gain perspective on the world and its wonders. I’m excited to work with the EC staff to bring Judaic Studies, Hebrew language, and Jewish values into your child’s classroom every day. We’ll learn Jewish traditions, holidays, daily prayers, blessings, conversational Hebrew, and more through songs, games, and storytelling. Every Friday, we’ll celebrate Kabbalat Shabbat (Welcoming the Sabbath) together. Plus, each semester, you’ll be invited to a creative showcase of your children’s Jewish education. I look forward to a great year ahead!

Prior to the first day of school, you may want to try some of the following to help ease the transition for both you and your child:

  • Begin an early bedtime routine (roughly 7:00-7:30 pm)
  • Plan some opportunities to be away from home and consider playdates to leave your child with family members or friends.
  • Consider finding a goodbye routine for you and your child to participate in during carpool drop off (hugs, chants, high fives, etc.)

Please bring these items to school during your scheduled Parent Intake Conference Day in August and monitor your email for an invitation to schedule your conference. Having these items taken care of before the FIRST DAY of school (August 19) will allow you to focus on your child’s transition into the classroom!

  • 2 complete changes of clothing (including underwear and socks). Please label each item and place them in a labeled Ziploc bag to remain at school
