Core Values
Academic Excellence - Each of our students is encouraged to reach his or her highest potential and develop a life-long love of learning.
Development of the Whole Child – According to King Solomon, we must “Teach every child according to his/her way.” Every child is unique and must be related to in a way that takes into account their cognitive, emotional, social, spiritual and physical development.
Immersion into Judaism – More than just a religion, Judaism includes a unique language, culture, way of life, and community. Our students develop fluency in Hebrew and develop their Jewish identity connecting them to their history and their future.
Love of Torah and Prayer - Studying and understanding that our sacred story that has great relevance to our modern lives. Building a personal and significant relationship with God as well as recognizing that to pray means being part of a community (kehillah).
Respect & Diversity – As a community school, Addlestone is not affiliated with any synagogue or branch of Judaism. Just like the Jewish community beyond Addlestone, our students and their families run the gamut of Jewish practice and observance. With a focus on menschlekite (being an admirable human being), our students recognize that how we treat and interact with each other affects how the world unfolds.
Derech Eretz – Literally translated, derech eretz means “the way of the land”; it expresses itself as the balance between the heart and the mind, between the physical and the spiritual, between the concrete and the abstract, between self-interest and selflessness.
